Cities: Skylines

Cities: Skylines mod integration

Getting Prop Control built and into a manually managed city setup.

Modding a city can involve as much compatibility work as new code. This task built algernon-A’s Prop Control against the installed game and the integration assemblies already in use.

01 Prop Control 1.0.1: a clean build and 44 verified installed files, followed by the in-game activation check.

The workflow packages the required files, checks their hashes after installation and preserves the existing setup before changing it.

Make the installation repeatable

The build completed with no errors, and the installation check verified 44 files from Prop Control 1.0.1. Saves and settings were kept separate from the mod files.

The record ends at verified disk installation. Activation and the intended decal-resizing behaviour still needed an in-game check.

Under the hood

Built upstream Prop Control against the installed game and existing integration assemblies.

Checked compatibility, packaged the required assemblies and verified installed file hashes.

Preserved existing mod folders, city saves and settings before installation.

Prop Control 1.0.1 built with no errors and two source-format warnings. The installation check matched all 44 files. The remaining step is checking activation in the game.
